Ahmed Olayinka Sule

Ahmed Olayinka Sule is a writer, documentary filmmaker, photojournalist, financial analyst, and social critic. He was born in London and grew up in Nigeria. He received his university education at Olabisi Onabanjo University, in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. His body of work spans continents, cultures and disciplines, exploring the intersection of economics, politics, religion, sports and race in today's world. His dual cultural grounding has shaped his perspective of the West and the Rest of the World.

He is a Chartered accountant and is a CFA Charterholder, and his professional career spans consulting and finance. He writes in a variety of styles, including satire, open letters, op-eds, polemical and sports essays, all within a broader framework of political and social non-fiction. His writing has appeared in leading publications such as The Financial Times, The Guardian, Business Insider, Media Diversified, PM News, Sahara Reporters, Daily Maverick, Proshare, Mail & Guardian, This Day, and Make It Plain, where he questions the prevailing narratives about race, capitalism, and Africa.

He also holds a Certificate in Photojournalism from the University of the Arts London. His photographic projects showcase the transformation of still images into reflections of culture, faith, and excellence.

He made his directorial debut in documentary filmmaking with the award-winning documentary, The Kukus of Ijebu-Ode: A Family Portrait. The film, which examines the rich history and legacy of the Kuku Family, highlights its role in the socio-political and religious development of Ijebu-Ode, a city in Southwest Nigeria. The documentary is an extension of his mission to record and question the narratives that define communities.

Ahmed Sule currently resides in London, where he continues to write on politics and social justice.
