Ivana Sajko
Ivana Sajko is an awarded writer, theatre director and performer, working in the overlapping fields of literature, performance art and music, living in Berlin. She is a four-time winner of the national playwriting award Marin Držić, decorated also with the Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture. She won the prestigious award Haus der Kulturen der Welt with the translator Alida Bremer for the German edition of the book Ljubavni roman, titled Liebesroman. Ivana Sajko’s works have been translated into numerous languages and performed internationally. Her books include a collection of plays Executed Faces (Smaknuta lica, 2001), trilogy of monologues Woman-bomb (Žena bomba, 2004), novels Rio bar (2005) and History of my family from 1941 till 1991, and beyond (Povijest moje obitelji od 1941 do 1991, i nakon, 2009), collection of plays Trilogy on Disobedience (Trilogija o neposluhu, 2012), Love Novel (Ljubavni roman, 2015). In 2004. she published CD Mass for election day silence together with American composers David Simons and Lisa Karer.
